Nexus is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency and respect for people and the planet in everything we do.

1. Purpose and Scope

  • This ethics policy sets out the standards of behaviour we expect from everyone representing Nexus, including employees, associates, contractors and key partners.

  • It applies to all our activities, from consultancy and project support through to business development, marketing and collaborations in the construction and built‑environment sectors.

2. Core Principles

  • We act with honesty, fairness and professionalism, making decisions that we can clearly explain and stand behind to clients, colleagues and wider stakeholders.

  • We comply with all applicable laws, regulations and professional obligations in the UK and any other jurisdictions in which we operate or support projects.

  • We treat everyone with dignity and respect, and do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or bullying on any grounds.

3. Responsible Clients, Partners and Products

  • We seek to work with organisations whose activities are compatible with our commitment to human dignity, lawful conduct and responsible stewardship of resources.

  • We may decline or discontinue work where credible information indicates that a client, partner or product is linked to severe human rights abuses, serious criminal acts or other behaviour that fundamentally conflicts with our values.

  • We expect our collaborators and suppliers to uphold similar standards of integrity and legality, and we take concerns raised about unethical conduct seriously.

4. Conflicts of Interest, Bribery and Fair Competition

  • We avoid situations where personal interests could improperly influence, or appear to influence, our professional judgement, and we disclose any potential conflicts promptly so they can be managed transparently.

  • We do not offer, request or accept bribes, kickbacks or improper advantages of any kind, and we compete fairly for business on the basis of quality, value and service.

  • Gifts and hospitality must be modest, infrequent and clearly not intended to secure favourable treatment or undermine independent decision‑making.

5. Confidentiality, Data and Communication

  • We protect confidential information entrusted to us by clients and partners and use it only for legitimate business purposes, in line with data protection and privacy laws.

  • We communicate in a clear, accurate and no‑nonsense way, ensuring our marketing, proposals and reports are honest, not misleading and aligned with the sustainability‑focused positioning of Nexus.

  • We use digital tools, social media and AI responsibly, in ways that respect confidentiality, intellectual property and the reputations of others.

6. Speaking Up and Continuous Improvement

  • Everyone working with or for Nexus is encouraged to raise concerns about suspected unethical, illegal or unsafe behaviour without fear of retaliation.

  • Reported concerns will be taken seriously, considered fairly and, where appropriate, investigated so that proportionate action can be taken.

  • We review this policy regularly, update it as good practice and regulations evolve, and use real‑world feedback to strengthen our ethical culture over time
